New Venture: Essential Oils

I’m on Day 12 of being sick so I finally broke down and ordered a diffuser and essential oils. I’ve been considering it since this past October but cannot afford Young Living or doTERRA oils so I’ve put it off. After researching like crazy, I have finally found an affordable company that still promises pure, non-diluted, properly expelled essential oils. They can be lower priced than the popular companies because they are not a multi-level marketing company and so don’t need to hike up the price to pay commissions (note: I am NOT saying MLM is bad—I’m a proud Jamberry consultant—but my budget is limited so I have to choose price/quality over popularity/quality in this case.) I also wanted to ensure this was something I enjoyed before spending a lot of money. I can be very, very sensitive to smells.

My diffuser is ZAQ Noor LiteMist from Amazon for $40. It’s plastic (BPA-free) so I can’t use straight up citrus oil for potential corrosion concerns, but can use citrus in a blend with other oils. Versus $80+ for other diffusers, I can handle that! A diffuser is essentially a mini cool-mist humidifier that you add water and drops of oil, then turn on to reap the benefits of the oil-infused mist. Mine even cycles through several colors (I just so happened to click for a photo when it was at green, but it also glows purple, blue, and pink.)

After researching several companies, the oils I finally decided on are from I got $5 off for signing up for Plant Therapy’s newsletter, so I ordered lavendar, rosemary, eucalyptus, peppermint, sweet orange and Germ Fighter (their version of Thieves) for $41 total. Free shipping too!!

For $80 for oils and diffuser, I am set in my new journey of learning about the health benefits of essential oils. This morning I have a blend of Rosemary, tea tree (already owned), eucalyptus & sweet orange and it’s breaking through my stuffed up nose…finally some relief!!
