The results for the $25 GIANT gift card giveaway are in! On behalf of GIANT food stores, Produce For Kids, and Below the Fork, thank you so much to everyone who participated. A huge congratulations go to Shelly S.! I’ll be mailing the gift card to her this week and cannot wait to see what yummy produce she purchases with it.
Today I used the $100 gift card that Produce For Kids so kindly sent me, and my bill total came out to $100.58! BOOM. My goal was to prove I could get an entire week’s worth of food for $100—thus proving it’s not crazy expensive to eat clean.
I purchased Naturipe strawberries (buy one, get one free!), Dole spinach and kale mix (free with my coupon!), organic eggs, Nature’s Promise ground turkey, Chiquita bananas, Sunset tomatoes, and a really nice array of clean foods like coconut milk, KIND vanilla blueberry flax granola (we’re obsessed), Food For Life brown rice tortillas, Paul Newman’s organic pasta sauce, Cabot black label extra sharp cheddar cheese, organic butter, pistachios, ground coffee, and navel oranges. In the gray area of clean eating, I purchased Boar’s Head roast beef and deli cheese—the concern is in the processing, though their products are nitrate-free and free of filters making Boar’s Head and Applegate Farms the best deli choices. In the very gray area, I bought Pecan Nut Thins—certainly not the worst thing, but a great choice when you just need a cracker! I also got a couple cleaning items and gluten-free pretzels so all in all, I really did make the most of this very generous gift from Produce For Kids!
What healthy food would you purchase with a free $100 gift card?
